This September, aviation enthusiasts, industry professionals, and families from across the region will gather at Pryor Field Regional Airport for Alabama AirFest 2026, a celebration of aviation, innovation, and the future of aerospace in North Alabama.

A Growing Aviation Hub
North Alabama has become one of the nation’s leading centers for aerospace, aviation, and defense. With organizations supporting military aviation, advanced manufacturing, engineering, and aircraft sustainment, the region continues to attract new investment and create opportunities for long-term growth.
Alabama AirFest brings together many of the people and organizations helping shape that future. From aircraft displays and aerial demonstrations to STEM activities and community engagement, the event showcases the innovation and talent that make North Alabama a leader in aviation.
Investing in the Future at Pryor Field
Recently, Strata-G celebrated the groundbreaking of a new Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) hangar at Pryor Field Regional Airport.
The $32.7 million project represents a significant investment in the future of aviation infrastructure in North Alabama. Once complete, the facility will expand aircraft maintenance and sustainment capabilities while creating approximately 50 aviation-related jobs over the next several years.
As the anchor tenant, Strata-G will help support Department of Defense programs and commercial aviation customers through advanced maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. The facility also supports the airport’s long-term expansion plans and strengthens the region’s growing aerospace economy.
Projects like this demonstrate how collaboration between Aleut and Strata-G help deliver capabilities that support national defense and regional economic development.
