Strata-G Solutions, LLC (Strata-G), based in Huntsville, Alabama, is proud to announce that Colonel (Retired) John M. Vannoy has been promoted to the position of President effective April 1, 2022. Strata-G is a Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) Program participant, Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), tribally-owned and wholly-owned subsidiary of Alaska Native Corporation (ANC), the Aleut Corporation, with headquarters in Anchorage, Alaska.
John will succeed Devin Whitaker, President and Founder, who formed the company in 2004 and has continued his role as President after Strata-G was acquired by the Aleut Corporation in September 2019. “I know it is the right time to transition the leadership of Strata-G. I am humbled and thankful to be part of such a great company as Strata-G and the Aleut Corporation. Strata-G has a bright future with John at the helm leading the way in the company’s next phase of growth and value creation for our Aleut shareholders”, said Whitaker.
John has served as Strata-G’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) since joining the company in early 2021 after a 32 year military career supporting Army Aviation. “I am honored to build on the strong organization and capabilities established here at Strata-G. As a military veteran, I understand the mission of this great company to provide innovative engineering and hardware solutions for the brave men and women who protect our freedom. My goals will be to continue to support our warfighters while maximizing dividends, benefits and opportunities for our Aleut shareholders. Prior to joining Strata-G as COO in 2021, John retired from military service as an Army Colonel and a Senior Army Aviator. As Commander and senior Army leader, John deployed multiple times to locations such as Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. Not only has John served as an Army Acquisition Officer and Army Project Manager at the highest level, but, he also served as the Army’s Program Executive Officer (PEO) for U.S. Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) Rotary Wing portfolio and as the Military Deputy to the Acquisition Executive USSOCOM. John has successfully led troops in combat and managed critical defense programs in the simulations, tactical missile, ballistic missile, aviation, and special operations business areas. John received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Central Missouri State University in 1991, a Master of Science degree for Acquisition Management from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2002, and a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the U.S. Army War College. John brings over 33 years of military and Aerospace industry experience into his new position as President, Strata-G Solutions, LLC.
