Strata-G Solutions is wholly owned by Aleut, one of the 12 Alaska Native regional corporations established by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) in 1971. Aleut proudly represents over 4,200 Alaska Native shareholders, primarily of Unangax (Aleut) descent from the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands of Alaska. Aleut is dedicated to advancing employment, education, and cultural support for its shareholders. Strata-G’s alignment with Aleut’s mission ensures that every project drives success not only for its federal and commercial customers but also contributes to the economic and cultural empowerment of the Unangax people.
ANCSA and Land Rights
The Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) was a groundbreaking piece of legislation that reshaped land ownership and rights for Indigenous peoples in Alaska. Through ANCSA, the U.S. Congress transferred 44 million acres of land and nearly $1 billion to Alaska Native regional and village corporations, including Aleut. For the Unangax people in the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands, ANCSA provided legal recognition of their ancestral lands and laid the foundation for economic self-determination. Today, Aleut leverages these land rights to support its shareholders, fostering economic growth while preserving the cultural and environmental integrity of the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands.
