Customer Requirement
The Government required design enhancements to the TOGA hand controller supporting the Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SUAS) missions. These enhancements include the following:
- Tough-Pad displays
- Global Positioning System receiver
- Additional Operator Human Machine Interface (HMI) devices
- Pocket Directional Data Loader transceiver
- Applicable power systems and cables
- Secondary touchscreen display
- Production, Kitting, and Manufacturing follow
on work included of TOGA controller and radio kit
Why Strata-G?
Strata-G has the perfect combination of design and manufacturing disciplines and flexibility to design a system to meet the customer’s dynamic requirements. By executing the project with an all-in-one shop efficiency (the Mechanical, Electronic, and Human Factors engineering – coupled with a rapid prototyping manufacturing capability) Strata-G is capable of making changes and generating new hardware to quickly fulfill the customer’s requirements.
Role of Strata-G
Strata-G was the engineering design and prototype fabrication authority for the TOGA project.
Solution
The Strata-G design team, comprised of Mechanical, Electronics, and Human Factor Engineering, used close communication with the government customer to provide iterative design steps to satisfy their requirements and expectations. Using Strata-G’s expert prototyping capabilities, multiple housing and human interface changes have been and continue to be produced for the customer to test the physical operation and feel of the unit assemblies.
