Customer Requirement

The Government required design enhancements to the TOGA hand controller supporting the Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SUAS) missions. These enhancements include the following:

  • Tough-Pad displays
  • Global Positioning System receiver
  • Additional Operator Human Machine Interface (HMI) devices
  • Pocket Directional Data Loader transceiver
  • Applicable power systems and cables
  • Secondary touchscreen display
  • Production, Kitting, and Manufacturing follow
    on work included of TOGA controller and radio kit

Solution

The Strata-G design team, comprised of Mechanical, Electronics, and Human Factor Engineering, used close communication with the government customer to provide iterative design steps to satisfy their requirements and expectations. Using Strata-G’s expert prototyping capabilities, multiple housing and human interface changes have been and continue to be produced for the customer to test the physical operation and feel of the unit assemblies.
